Exercise Needs: While they are not overly active dogs, they still need regular exercise to maintain a healthy weight and mental well-being. Moderate walks and playtime are usually sufficient.
Training: Mastiffs are generally intelligent and can be trained, but they may have an independent streak. Early socialization and consistent, positive reinforcement training are important.
Health: Like all large and giant breeds, Mastiffs can be prone to certain health issues, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, and heart problems. Regular veterinary care and a proper diet are crucial.
The Mastiff is a calm, gentle and noble dog that is devoted and loving towards their family - often thinking of themselves as a lap dog! They are however indifferent or even suspicious of strangers - human or canine.
