Dogs List - 2024

Small dogs are part of many AKC groups, so there is a perfect breed for every lover of little dogs when it comes to personality, activity level and coat type. They don’t necessarily need to work off loads of energy, so they are quite suitable for apartment life. But not all small dogs are lap warmers! Some can have personalities that are tough as nails. Certain breeds like Dachshunds or small terriers also love country life and the opportunity to run around.

Goldendoodle or Groodle Dog Breed

Lifespan: 10-15 years

Goldendoodles come in three sizes

The standard Goldendoodle is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. Once this dog became popular, breeders got requests for smaller, more versatile versions of the Goldendoodle. They bred Golden Retrievers with Poodles of different sizes to make the breed more diverse without diluting the desired characteristics and personalities of the dogs. Now Goldendoodles have three sizes:

Miniature Goldendoodle 13-20”, 15-35 lbs
Small Goldendoodle 17 – 20” 40-50 lbs
Large Goldendoodle 20 – 24” 50-90 lbs

Coat: Goldendoodles can have a variety of coat types, including wavy, curly, or straight. They often have low-shedding or hypoallergenic coats, making them popular for allergy sufferers.

Goldendoodles can be considered high maintenance due to their grooming needs and energy levels. Their curly or wavy coats require regular brushing and professional grooming to prevent matting and tangling, particularly if they inherit the poodle’s coat. Additionally, they have high energy levels and require daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep them happy and healthy. Without proper exercise and attention, they may become bored and engage in destructive behaviors.
