Pomsky Dog Breed

The Pomsky is a designer dog that is a mix between a Pomeranian and Siberian Husky.

HEIGHT: 10 to 15 inches

WEIGHT: 7 to 38 pounds

LIFE SPAN : 12 to 15 years

Coat: Varied, can be fluffy like a Husky or soft like a Pomeranian.

Temperament: Energetic, playful, intelligent

Exercise Needs: Moderate to High

Training: Pomskies are intelligent but can also be stubborn, which may result from their strong-willed parent breeds. Positive reinforcement training techniques are effective in helping them learn commands and behaviors.

The Pomsky is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Siberian Husky, and they are quickly becoming one of the most popular designer dog breeds. Cute, silly, and suited for apartment life, the Pomsky dogs like to be the center of attention, and with their adorable looks and playful antics, they often get the adoration they crave.

Small and playful: Pomskies are small dogs, typically standing 10 to 15 inches tall and weighing 20 to 30 pounds. They are playful and energetic, and they love to be around people.

Intelligent and trainable: Pomskies are intelligent dogs that are easy to train. They can learn basic commands quickly and can be trained to perform more complex tasks.

There are four different types of Pomsky: teacup, miniature, standard, and giant but they are also classified with F1, F2 and F1b. The size of a Pomsky can vary greatly, as it depends on the proportion of Pomeranian and Siberian Husky genes they inherit.

What does F1 mean for Pomsky?
They are normally crossed between a Husky and Pomeranian. To know what generation your Pomsky comes from there are F numbers. For example a F1 Pomsky is the first generation and has one parent who is 100% husky and the other 100% Pomeranian. This means the Pomsky pup is 50% Husky and 50% Pomeranian.1

Second Generation Pomsky = F2
The second option is Pomsky x Pomsky! The result is of course: Pomsky! The weight estimation is more straight forward. Our Pomskies are all just about 20 lbs (give or take 1 or 2 pounds) so their puppies are usually right about 20 lbs too.
