A squitten is a cat with a genetic deformity which causes a partial formation or complete absence of the radius bone making it resemble a squirrel.
A "Squitten" (or Twisty Cat) is not a true breed, but rather a cat suffering from a severe, naturally occurring genetic deformity known as radial hypoplasia. This causes the front legs to be extremely short or twisted, forcing the cat to sit up like a squirrel, hence the name.
Because they are standard domestic cats with a severe deformity, their temperament varies wildly. Due to their unique, challenging appearance, choosing sweet, compassionate cat names is fitting. However, owning a Squitten requires a massive commitment to specialized pet care and frequent veterinary intervention. They cannot jump normally, suffer from severe arthritis, and must be kept strictly indoors to protect them.
