The Epagneul Picard is a highly robust, incredibly resilient pointing spaniel from France. Slightly heavier and taller than the Blue Picardy, they possess a stunning brown roan coat and were bred to hunt in the brutal, marshy conditions of the Somme Valley.
The Picardy Spaniel is exceptionally gentle, highly affectionate, and intensely eager to please. They are brilliant, steady workers in the field and wonderfully calm companions in the home, provided they receive massive amounts of daily exercise. Their feathered coat is surprisingly weather-resistant but requires regular brushing to prevent matting.
