The German Longhaired Pointer is a highly robust, incredibly versatile, and fiercely driven hunting dog. Combining the elegant, feathered coat of a setter with the sheer power and stamina of a pointer, they are elite athletes bred to work on land and in freezing water.
The GLP is deeply affectionate, highly intelligent, and very eager to please. They are calm, gentle companions in the home, provided they receive absolutely massive amounts of daily exercise. They absolutely must have a job to do, such as advanced hunting or agility trials. Their beautiful, feathered coat requires regular brushing.
