The Welsh Springer Spaniel is a highly athletic, incredibly resilient, and deeply affectionate flushing spaniel. Instantly recognizable by their stunning, rich red-and-white feathered coat, they are slightly smaller and more intensely driven in the field than their English Springer cousins.
The Welshie is intensely loyal, highly eager to please, and deeply devoted to its family, though naturally more aloof with strangers than other spaniels. They are brilliant, steady workers but absolutely require vigorous daily exercise; without it, they become highly destructive. Their beautiful coat is highly weather-resistant and requires regular brushing to prevent tangles.
