The Drever is a highly energetic, short-legged scenthound from Sweden. Despite their small stature, they are incredibly tough, fiercely determined, and possess a remarkable, booming baying voice. They were bred to hunt roe deer, driving game slowly toward the hunter.
The Drever is deeply affectionate, highly social, and wonderful with children. They are excellent, calm family dogs indoors. However, they are highly stubborn when tracking a scent and possess an overwhelming prey drive. They require moderate daily exercise and a highly secure yard. Their short coat is exceptionally easy to groom.
