The Hamiltonstövare is a highly athletic, intensely driven scenthound and the national dog of Sweden. Bred specifically to hunt hare and fox alone rather than in a pack, they possess a stunning tricolor coat, immense stamina, and exceptional scenting ability.
The Hamiltonstövare is deeply affectionate and wonderfully calm indoors, but intensely focused outdoors. Because they were bred to hunt independently, they are highly stubborn and cannot be trusted off-leash in unsecured areas. They require vigorous daily exercise and firm, patient training. Their short, sleek coat is incredibly easy to care for.
