The Posavski Gonič is a highly robust, incredibly resilient scenthound from Croatia. Bred to track hare, fox, and wild boar through the dense forests of the Sava River basin, they are fiercely courageous, highly determined, and possess a striking reddish-wheaten coat.
This breed is an intense, fiercely independent hunter. Indoors, they are calm, deeply affectionate, and highly loyal to their families. However, outdoors, their nose dictates their actions completely. They cannot be trusted off-leash and require an incredibly active owner who can provide massive amounts of daily running. Their short, dense coat is very easy to care for.
