The Bolognese is a highly affectionate, incredibly sweet-tempered toy breed originating from Bologna, Italy. Part of the Bichon family, they possess a stunning, pure white, flocked coat that falls in loose ringlets, and they were bred exclusively to be the pampered companions of Italian nobility.
The Bolognese is the ultimate lap dog. They form intensely close bonds with their owners and suffer from severe separation anxiety if left alone. They are highly adaptable to apartment living and require only short daily walks. Their gorgeous coat does not shed (making them hypoallergenic) but requires intense, daily brushing and professional grooming to prevent severe matting.
