The Bayerischer Gebirgsschweisshund is a sleek, highly athletic tracking hound bred to work in brutal alpine terrain. They are highly intelligent, deeply loyal, and possess an exceptional ability to track cold scents over incredibly difficult, high-altitude ground.
This breed is an intense, fiercely independent hunter. Indoors, they are calm, deeply affectionate, and highly loyal to their families. However, outdoors, their nose dictates their actions completely. They cannot be trusted off-leash and require an incredibly active owner who can provide massive amounts of daily running. Their short, dense coat is very easy to care for.
