The Drentsche Patrijshond is a highly versatile, incredibly energetic hunting spaniel/pointer from the Netherlands. They possess a stunning, feathered white-and-brown coat, immense stamina, and are equally adept at pointing, retrieving, and tracking game in dense cover.
The Drent is exceptionally gentle, highly affectionate, and intensely eager to please. They are brilliant, steady workers in the field and wonderfully calm companions in the home, provided they receive massive amounts of daily exercise. Their feathered coat is surprisingly weather-resistant but requires regular brushing to prevent matting.
