The Xolo (Mexican Hairless Dog) is an ancient, highly primitive breed with a history spanning 3,000 years in the Americas. They are brilliantly intelligent, deeply loyal, and come in three sizes (Toy, Miniature, Standard), possessing either a completely hairless body or a short, flat coat.
The Xolo forms an incredibly intense, clingy bond with their family, but because they possess primitive survival instincts, they are naturally highly cautious and aloof with strangers. Massive early socialization is mandatory to prevent fearfulness. The hairless variety requires regular bathing, moisturizing lotion, and sunscreen to protect their skin, and they are highly sensitive to cold.
