The Mudi is a highly energetic, exceptionally agile, and brilliantly smart Hungarian herding dog. They possess a distinctive, wavy or curly coat, prick ears, and an intensely alert, terrier-like spirit, bred to drive cattle and sheep with blistering speed.
The Mudi is intensely loyal, highly playful, and possesses absolutely boundless energy. They think incredibly fast and bore easily, requiring an intensely active owner who can provide advanced agility or obedience training. They are highly vocal watchdogs. Their unique curly coat sheds very little and is surprisingly low-maintenance, needing only occasional brushing.
