The Aidi is a rugged, fiercely protective flock guardian hailing from the brutal Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Possessing a thick, weather-resistant coat and an intensely powerful build, they were bred by nomadic tribes to protect camps and livestock from jackals and wildcats.
The Aidi is a highly serious working dog. They are deeply devoted to their family but possess overwhelming guarding instincts. They are naturally highly suspicious of strangers and fiercely protective of their territory. They require an incredibly experienced owner, massive early socialization, and vast open spaces. Their thick coat requires regular brushing.
