The Pharaoh Hound is an ancient, incredibly elegant sight-hound hailing from Malta. Bred to hunt rabbits over brutal, rocky terrain, they are incredibly fast, fiercely courageous, and possess absolutely massive jumping ability and a unique trait of "blushing" when excited.
The Pharaoh Hound is deeply affectionate, highly playful, and wonderfully calm indoors. However, outdoors, they possess an overwhelming prey drive and will chase anything that moves. Because they can jump incredibly high, a remarkably tall, highly secure fence is mandatory. They require vigorous daily running. Their short coat is exceptionally easy to groom.
