The Tosa Inu is a massive, heavily muscled, and intensely powerful Japanese mastiff. Originally bred as the ultimate gladiator for Japanese dog fighting, they possess immense strength, a deeply stoic, majestic bearing, and absolutely unparalleled courage. They are a highly serious working breed.
The Tosa is deeply devoted to its family but possesses overwhelming guarding instincts and immense dog aggression. They are highly dominant and naturally suspicious of strangers. They require an incredibly experienced owner, massive early socialization, and firm leadership. They are not suited for apartment living.
