The Brittany is a highly athletic, brilliantly smart, and fiercely driven pointing dog from France. They are more compact and heavily built than a setter but possess the same intense stamina and exceptional scenting ability. They are eager to please and highly sensitive.
The Brittany is the ultimate "Velcro dog." They form an intense bond with their owner and suffer from severe separation anxiety if left alone. They possess absolutely massive energy reserves and require vigorous daily running; a short walk is never enough. Their short, feathered coat is very easy to groom but sheds moderately year-round.
