The Gordon Setter is the largest, most heavily built, and most fiercely protective of all setters. Hailing from Scotland, they possess a stunning, flowing black-and-tan coat and were bred for incredible endurance, capable of working all day in brutal, rocky terrain.
The Gordon Setter is deeply devoted to its family but naturally highly suspicious of strangers, making them excellent watchdogs. They mature very slowly, remaining intensely puppy-like for years. They absolutely require vigorous daily exercise and firm, consistent training. Their beautiful, feathered coat requires regular brushing to prevent tangles and manage shedding.
