The Australian Kelpie is an incredibly energetic, brilliantly smart, and intensely driven herding dog. Bred to work sheep across the vast, brutal Australian outback, they possess absolutely boundless stamina, a short, weather-resistant double coat, and a legendary, tireless work ethic.
The Kelpie is a highly serious working dog, not a typical house pet. They are deeply loyal to their handler but require a massive amount of physical and mental exercise; without a job to do (like herding or advanced agility), they become highly destructive and neurotic. Their short coat is exceptionally easy to groom.
