The Kai Ken is a highly primitive, intensely agile, and incredibly rare spitz breed from Japan. Bred to hunt boar and deer in brutal, steep mountainous terrain, they possess a stunning, uniquely brindle coat that acts as natural camouflage, and they are exceptional climbers.
The Kai is fiercely loyal to its family but naturally highly suspicious of strangers. They are independent thinkers, notoriously stubborn, and possess an overwhelming prey drive. They require an incredibly experienced owner, massive early socialization, and vigorous daily exercise. Their thick double coat requires regular brushing, especially during shedding season.
