The Anatolian Shepherd Dog is a giant, exceptionally powerful, and fiercely independent livestock guardian from Turkey. Built for incredible endurance and speed, they were bred to protect flocks from wolves and cheetahs across the brutal, vast Anatolian plateau.
The Anatolian is a deeply serious working dog, not a typical family pet. They view their family and flock as their pack and will fiercely protect them, but they are highly independent thinkers who do not tolerate harsh training. They possess overwhelming guarding instincts and immense dog aggression. They require an incredibly experienced owner and vast open spaces.
