The Central Asian Shepherd (Alabai) is a giant, incredibly powerful, and profoundly aggressive livestock guardian. Possessing a massive frame and often cropped ears and a docked tail, they were bred by nomadic tribes to protect flocks from wolves and bears with absolute ruthlessness.
This breed is a highly serious, intensely aggressive working dog. They are deeply loyal to their family but possess an overwhelming guarding instinct and immense dog aggression. They require an incredibly experienced owner, massive early socialization, and firm leadership. They are not suited for apartment living. Their thick coat requires regular brushing.
