The Russian Toy is a tiny, incredibly elegant, and highly energetic companion dog. One of the smallest breeds in the world, they come in two coat varieties (Smooth and Longhaired) and were bred as pampered lap dogs for Russian nobility, possessing a strikingly aristocratic bearing.
Don't let their tiny size fool you; the Russian Toy has a massive terrier-like personality. They are fiercely courageous, highly vocal watchdogs, and notoriously bossy. They require firm, consistent training and daily exercise. They are brilliant escape artists and incredibly fragile. Their coat is exceptionally easy to care for.
