The Formosan Mountain Dog is an ancient, highly primitive, and intensely agile hunting dog from Taiwan. Bred to survive in the brutal, heavily forested mountains, they possess a sleek, short coat, exceptional jumping ability, and an incredibly independent, fierce survival instinct.
The Taiwan Dog forms an incredibly intense, clingy bond with their owner, but they are naturally highly cautious and aloof with strangers. Massive early socialization is mandatory to prevent fearfulness. They possess absolutely boundless energy and an overwhelming prey drive, requiring a highly active owner. Their short coat is very easy to care for.
