The Karelian Bear Dog is an incredibly tough, highly primitive, and fiercely courageous hunting spitz from Finland. Bred specifically to hunt aggressive, dangerous game like brown bears and wild boars, they possess a stunning black-and-white coat and an imposing, fearless demeanor.
This breed is a highly serious, intensely aggressive hunter. They are deeply loyal to their handler but possess immense dog aggression and an overwhelming prey drive. They require a highly experienced, firm owner and are not recommended for typical family homes. They need massive amounts of exercise and highly secure fencing. Their thick coat requires regular brushing.
