The Finnish Spitz is a highly energetic, incredibly alert, and brilliantly smart hunting dog. Often mistaken for a fox due to their stunning red-gold coat and pointed muzzle, they were bred to hunt game birds by barking rapidly to alert the hunter to the bird’s location.
The "Finkie" is intensely loyal, highly playful, and deeply affectionate with its family. However, they are bred specifically to bark—a lot. They are exceptional watchdogs but require early, consistent training to manage their vocal nature. They require vigorous daily exercise, and their beautiful double coat requires regular brushing, especially during seasonal shedding.
