The Kai Ken is an ancient, highly primitive, and fiercely courageous Japanese spitz breed. They are intensely loyal to one person but highly aloof with strangers.

Key Training Tips:

• Firm Leadership: They do not take orders easily and view themselves as the alpha. Establish yourself as a firm, consistent leader using reward-based training.
• Socialization is Mandatory: Because they possess primitive survival instincts, they are naturally highly cautious. Massive socialization is required to prevent fearfulness.

They are serious working dogs that demand an incredibly active, experienced owner.
