The Skye Terrier is a highly elegant, intensely loyal, and incredibly rugged working terrier. Instantly recognizable by their long, flowing coat that falls over their eyes and their distinctly long, low body, they were bred to hunt badgers on the brutal Isle of Skye.
The Skye Terrier is famously a "one-person dog." They bond intensely with their handler and are highly aloof, though never aggressive, with strangers. They are fiercely courageous and possess a strong prey drive. They require moderate daily exercise. Their stunning, floor-length coat requires intense, daily brushing to prevent severe, painful matting.
