The Cesky Terrier is a short-legged, surprisingly calm, and highly affectionate terrier from the Czech Republic. Created by crossing the Scottish and Sealyham Terriers, they were bred to hunt in packs but possess a much softer, wavier coat and a significantly mellower temperament than typical terriers.
The Cesky is deeply devoted, highly playful, and much less stubborn and scrappy than other earthdogs. They are excellent family companions and highly adaptable to apartment living, requiring only moderate daily exercise. However, they still possess a strong prey drive. Their beautiful, silky coat does not shed but requires regular brushing and professional clipping.
