Bred in England specifically to flush foxes from their underground dens, they are incredibly fast, fiercely intelligent, and possess absolutely massive energy reserves wrapped in a sleek, short coat.
The Smooth Fox Terrier is the quintessential terrier: bossy, highly alert, and intensely driven. They are brilliant problem solvers who will quickly invent destructive games if bored. They absolutely require an active owner who can provide vigorous daily running and firm, consistent leadership. Their smooth coat is very easy to groom but does shed moderately year-round.
