Cavaliers are gentle, intensely affectionate, and eager to please. They are highly attuned to their owners’ emotions, making them incredibly easy to train.

Key Training Tips:

• Soft Corrections: Cavaliers are extremely sensitive. A harsh tone will frighten them and ruin the training session. Use only gentle, positive reinforcement.
• Recall Training: Despite being a toy breed, they possess strong spaniel hunting instincts and will chase birds or squirrels. Practice recall heavily.
• Separation Anxiety: Train them early to tolerate being alone for short periods, as they are highly prone to severe separation anxiety.
