Group :Terriers Section : Small sized Terriers
The Scottish Terrier is an iconic, highly dignified, and fiercely independent earthdog. Instantly recognizable by their distinct profile, bushy beard, and short, powerful legs, they were bred to hunt badgers and foxes in the rugged Scottish Highlands. They are incredibly strong and famously stubborn.
The "Scottie" is deeply loyal to its family but famously aloof with strangers. They are independent thinkers who do not tolerate harsh training or repetitive drills. They make exceptional watchdogs but possess an overwhelming prey drive. Their harsh, wiry double coat requires regular brushing and professional grooming to maintain its classic silhouette.
