The Segugio Italiano a Pelo Raso is a highly elegant, incredibly fast scenthound from Italy. Recognized by their striking short coat and exceptionally long ears, they were bred to hunt hare and wild boar across brutal, rocky terrain, possessing exceptional stamina.
This breed is a highly serious, intensely driven working dog. They are deeply loyal to their handler but are independent thinkers who do not respond to repetitive obedience drills. They require an incredibly active owner who can provide massive amounts of daily running. Their short, sleek coat is highly weather-resistant and incredibly easy to care for.
