The Wachtelhund is a highly versatile, incredibly resilient flushing and retrieving spaniel from Germany. Bred to hunt in dense, brutal forests and freezing water, they possess a thick, wavy coat, immense stamina, and exceptional scenting ability, working closely with their handler.
This breed is an intense working dog. They are deeply affectionate and calm indoors, but their hunting instincts are overwhelming outdoors. They are highly intelligent and eager to please, making them highly trainable. They require vigorous daily exercise and absolutely must have a job to do. Their wavy coat requires regular brushing to prevent tangles.
