The Kerry Blue Terrier is a highly versatile, medium-sized farm dog originating from Ireland. They are instantly recognizable by their stunning, soft, wavy coat that transitions from black to a striking slate blue as they mature. Originally bred to hunt small game, herd sheep, and guard the farm, they are intensely driven.
The Kerry Blue is a quintessential terrier: fiercely courageous, highly intelligent, and notoriously stubborn. They bond deeply with their families but can be highly aggressive toward other dogs if not properly socialized. Their soft, wavy coat does not shed, making them great for allergy sufferers, but they require daily brushing and professional trimming.
