Complete Guide to the Bedlington Terrier

The Bedlington Terrier is instantly recognizable for its striking resemblance to a lamb. Underneath their unique, curly, pearled coat lies the heart of a fierce, incredibly fast hunter originally bred in England to chase down foxes and rodents. They are highly graceful, agile, and surprisingly powerful.

Temperament and Care

While they look angelic and are deeply affectionate indoors, the Bedlington is a true terrier outdoors—intensely fast, fiercely courageous, and driven by a massive prey drive. They are excellent, calm house pets as long as they receive vigorous daily running. Their unique, crisp coat does not shed, making them hypoallergenic, but requires specialized professional clipping regularly.

Is the Bedlington Terrier Right for You?

  • Pros: Non-shedding, highly affectionate indoors, and exceptionally fast athletes.
