The Wachtelhund is a highly robust, incredibly driven hunting spaniel used primarily by foresters. They are highly intelligent and very vocal on the trail.

Key Training Tips:

• Scent Distraction: When their nose hits the ground, their ears turn off. Flawless recall takes years of practice; never trust them off-leash in unsecured areas.
• Vigorous Exercise: They require massive amounts of running in dense cover. A tired spaniel is a calm, trainable spaniel inside the house.
