The Clumber Spaniel is a massive, heavily built, and incredibly powerful flushing spaniel. Originally bred by French and British nobility to hunt in extremely dense brush, their heavy, low-slung frame allows them to push through cover that lighter spaniels cannot penetrate.
The Clumber is the "gentle giant" of the spaniel world. They are famously calm, deeply affectionate, and highly dignified, though they can be aloof with strangers. They require only moderate daily exercise. However, they drool profusely, shed heavily all year, and their thick, white coat requires regular brushing. They are also prone to snoring loudly.
