The Braque du Bourbonnais is a highly rugged, intensely resilient pointing dog from France. They possess a stunning, uniquely ticked or roan coat (often called "fawn" or "wine dregs") and are frequently born with a naturally short tail, making them an exceptional, compact upland hunter.
The Bourbonnais is a deeply affectionate, highly sensitive companion. They form intense bonds with their families and are wonderfully calm indoors. However, their hunting instincts are profound, requiring vigorous daily exercise and advanced mental stimulation. Their short coat is remarkably low-maintenance, needing only occasional brushing, but they shed moderately.
