The Perdigueiro Português is a highly robust, incredibly resilient pointing dog from Portugal. Bred to hunt partridge in brutal, unforgiving terrain, they are slightly stockier than other pointers, possessing a short, harsh yellow or chestnut coat and immense stamina.
The Portuguese Pointer is exceptionally gentle, deeply loyal, and highly affectionate with its family. They are very eager to please and highly trainable using positive reinforcement. They require an incredibly active owner who can provide massive amounts of daily running. Their short coat is highly weather-resistant and very easy to care for.
