The Braque d'Auvergne is a robust, heavily built, and fiercely driven pointing dog from France. Known for their striking black-and-white coat (often heavily ticked), they are highly resilient hunters capable of working in the most brutal, unforgiving mountainous terrain.
Despite their imposing size, the Auvergne Pointer is exceptionally gentle, deeply loyal, and highly affectionate with their family. They are very eager to please and highly trainable. They require an incredibly active owner who can provide massive amounts of daily running. Their short coat is highly weather-resistant and very easy to care for.
