The Volpino Italiano is a highly intelligent, intensely alert, and incredibly devoted spitz breed from Italy. Visually resembling a Pomeranian, they possess a stunning, profuse white or red double coat, a fox-like face, and an exceptionally cheerful, lively demeanor.
The Volpino is famously eager to please and highly trainable. They are excellent, highly vocal watchdogs who will aggressively alert you to any strangers. While they are deeply affectionate lap dogs, they possess high energy and require regular daily walks. Their gorgeous, thick double coat requires intense, regular brushing to prevent painful matting.
