The Ca de Bou (Majorca Mastiff) is a massive, incredibly powerful, and profoundly courageous guard dog. Originally bred in Spain for bull-baiting and guarding estates, they possess immense strength, a deeply stoic bearing, and absolutely unparalleled courage. They are a highly serious working breed.
The Ca de Bou is deeply devoted to its family but possesses overwhelming guarding instincts and immense dog aggression. They are highly dominant and naturally suspicious of strangers. They require an incredibly experienced owner, massive early socialization, and firm leadership. They are not suited for apartment living. Their short coat is easy to care for.
